For dynamic teams who strive to keep every promise

योत्र Yotra

The cord that ties work together. Everything in one place so nothing slips, nobody chases blind, and every request hears back on time.

Email, requests, tasks, deadlines and meetings, with Sakha to answer and act.

The word

The cord that ties everything together.

योत्र yotra, noun
  1. a cord, a rope;
  2. the tie that fastens the yoke of a plough to the neck of the ox.

From the root yu, to join. Hindi still has it as jot, the rope of a harness.

In a field, the strength is in the oxen.

Whether the furrow runs straight depends on a length of rope.

The yotra is that rope. It ties the yoke to the plough, so every pull goes the same way.

Most teams have strength to spare. What's missing is the cord.

Why we're building it

A team runs on hundredsof small promises a month.

Each one is kept somewhere. A shared inbox, an Excel tracker, a WhatsApp group, a manager's diary, a junior's memory. None of those talk to each other, so a team spends its best people checking on its own work.

Yotra is where those promises meet, so they can be kept.

The problem

Where work slips today

Whether you serve clients or the rest of your company, these will sound familiar.

01

The shared inbox

projects@ has forty readers and no owner.

A client writes to the team's shared mailbox. Three people open it. Each one assumes someone else has replied. By Thursday the client is calling the person in charge.

02

The tracker

Deadlines come every week. The tracker is only as current as whoever touched it last.

Due dates live in an Excel sheet that travels by email. Changes arrive as a WhatsApp forward and get typed in by hand. Whoever has the latest copy is right.

03

Waiting on someone else

"Sir, will send today."

Half the delay in any piece of work is waiting on someone else: a client's signed agreement, another team's numbers, a yes on the draft. The reminders live in someone's phone, so nobody can see how long it has really been, or who asked last.

04

Work the agreement never covered

The favours nobody bills.

One more round of revisions. A quick call with their investor. A market study for their board. None of it is in the agreement. Over a year it can add up to weeks of unbilled work, because no one saw it happening.

05

The question from the top

"Where are we on Sahyadri?" takes three calls to answer.

To know where one piece of work stands, the person in charge asks the manager, who asks the junior, who goes looking in the shared drive. The answer comes back an hour later, and it is already a guess.

Five loose ends. One cord.

Yotra ties each one to the client or team, the person and the date it belongs to.

What it does

One window for the whole team

Mail, requests, tasks, deadlines, meetings and pages, each tied to the client or team it belongs to. Here it is, page by page, the way it sits in the app.

Meet Sakha

सखा A friend at work who knows all your work, and does what you ask.

Sakha means a friend, the one who walks beside you. It reads the same tasks, email and deadlines your team does. Ask it anything in plain words, or tell it what to change, and it's done without hunting for the right screen.

  1. 01Ask about anything.

How a client stands, what a colleague has on, how the week is going: from the real tasks, email and dates, in a few lines.

  2. 02Tell it what to change.

Close, move or hand over work in plain words. It checks before it acts, and every change can be undone.

  3. 03Keep up with email.

Who's waiting for a reply and for how long, and a draft in your words. Nothing goes to a client unless you send it.

  4. 04Turn requests into work.

What clients and colleagues ask for becomes tasks with an owner and a date, all at once.

  5. 05Write it down for you.

Next steps, notes and checklists straight onto the page you're on, from what you tell it.

  6. 06Follow up on clients.

What clients said they'd send, and by when. It keeps the list, and you tell it when something arrives.

Ask

“Where are we on Mehta Retail?”

“What did I promise clients for this week?”

“Who has the most on their plate?”

The answer in seconds, from the real tasks, mail and dates. No more asking around to find out where something stands.

Act

“Move my overdue work to Friday.”

“Give this email to Rahul.”

“Turn the urgent requests into tasks.”

Changes go through the same checks as your own clicks: work that needs a reviewer still goes to the reviewer. Every change to your work can be undone.

Write

“Add the next steps to this page.”

“Draft a reply to Neha about the timeline.”

“Make a checklist for the launch.”

Notes and checklists land on the page. Replies come as drafts: nothing goes to a client unless you send it.

On every screen

It starts where you are, and goes wherever you ask.

The round button sits on every screen. Open it on a client and “this” means that client; on an email, that conversation; on a page, that page. It acts right there, and the screen changes in front of you. Ask about anything else and it answers that too.

Or just say it.

Tap the mic and talk to Sakha in English, हिन्दी, मराठी, ગુજરાતી, தமிழ் and more, wherever your browser understands them. It can read its answers out loud. Between meetings, dictate the notes straight into the page, and ask Sakha to turn them into tasks.

“आज क्या बाकी है?”“उद्याचं काम दाखव.”“Make a task to call Arjun at four.”

From India, for the world

Made for the way teams here actually work

  • Working Saturdays, festival holidays and India time are part of every clock. A team abroad sets its own time zone.
  • Your own deadlines, kept for you. Recurring dates for every client or team, and Indian statutory dates ready for the teams that need them.
  • Amounts the way you read them. ₹6L, ₹1.25Cr, not 600,000.
  • Outlook, Gmail or other email (GoDaddy, Titan, Zoho, Rediffmail Pro and more), including shared mailboxes like projects@ and accounts@.
  • Replies go from your own mailbox, with your signature, formatted the way you like.
  • Bring your clients and tasks from Excel, and take everything out again whenever you want.
  • Each organisation's data is kept apart by the database itself, not only by the app. Every change is in an activity log, in plain words.
